How We See ADHD eBook Kimberly Dewey Shipes Reviews
Thoughtfully written poems from the perspective of both parent and child. A peek into the thoughts of a child experiencing those challenges that come with ADHD and the voice of the parent urging their child to accept themselves as the great kid that they are.
This was incredibly well written. I not only love the way it flows but I can feel the parent's emotion in trying to explain something quite difficult to their child. An explanation that probably is repeated daily. This is a must read if you are trying to understand how to explain to your child who has ADHD, a child with a sibling, etc.
This book is unique because it approaches ADHD from the emotional standpoint of the parent AND the child. Through emotional poems and conversations, the book provides a deeper look into what it feels like to be different, and is relevant to any parent trying to communicate with a child who is struggling to be understood. Beautifully-written and very insightful.
Targeted at ADHD, but there's something here for all parents--loving the children that we *have*...i.e. the real people in front of us who are as imperfect as we are. The story brings out the love parents feel, while acknowledging the challenges and realities of ADHD in daily family, academic, and social life. A short piece that you will want to reread often.
Beautiful, Sensitive, Timeless ...not just for those dealing with ADHD, but a treasure for all children and those who love them.
This is a wonderful sonnet. Easy and quick to read, yet it offers parents and family hope, and joy for their offspring who has ADHD. Thanks for writing such a touching piece! Worth every penny!
